Lisbon Santa Apol - train leaves 2210hrs & arrives at Madrid Chamartin at 0840hrs. Journey time = 9hrs 30mins. Price = 80.7 euros (£54.70). Change stations. Madrid Atocha - train leaves 1025hrs & arrives at Barcelona Sants at 1443hrs. Journey time = 4hrs 28mins. Price = 65.44 euros (£44.35). These facts are based on 2nd class travel & were for a journey on the 26th/27th July '07. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately I can't give a proper answer for your question, but I can direct you to CP (Portuguese Railway) website and hopefully you will be able to get some information.
For what I have seen, I think you will have to take a train to Madrid and then another one to Barcelona. According to the timetable I've seen the trip to Madrid will take around 11 hours. The train departs from Lisbon as 10:00 p.m. and arrives at 8:49 a.m.
I must be honest, I find the CP site quite confusing.
